Why We Chose This Trip

July is peak Alaska. The warmest weather, the longest days, and the most active wildlife of the season.

I chose a one way sailing on purpose. Instead of turning around and covering the same water twice, this route runs the length of the coast, from Hubbard Glacier down through the Inside Passage, so every day looks different from the last.

And I held group space on this specific sailing so the families traveling with me get rates and terms that are not available booking on your own.

Groups rates do not mean you have to do group activities or are together all the time - just locked in pricing!

ITINERARY

Day 1: Seward

Board in the afternoon and sail at 8:00 PM. Plan to arrive at least a day early, Seward is about two and a half hours from Anchorage.
Day 2: Hubbard Glacier

An afternoon of scenic cruising in front of one of Alaska's most active tidewater glaciers. This is a deck day, bring layers.
Day 3: Juneau

In port 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Whale watching, the Mendenhall Glacier, or a tram ride up the mountain.
Day 4: Skagway

In port 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Gold rush history and the railway that climbs into the mountains.
Day 5: Icy Strait Point

In port 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Wildlife, Tlingit culture, and one of the longest ziplines in the world.
Day 6: Ketchikan

In port 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Totems, rainforest, and salmon.
Day 7: At sea

Cruising the Inside Passage. The day everyone uses the ship.
Day 8: Vancouver, British Columbia

Arrive 6:00 AM and disembark. Fly home, or stay a night and see the city.

What’s Included

Your stateroom of your choice is included.
All meals in the main dining room and at the buffet venues on the ship, from breakfast through dinner, are included for the whole sailing.
Entertainment on the ship such as shows, comedy club activities, and more.
Kid and teen programs onboard are included in the cruise fare.

What’s Not Included

Flights to and from the embarkation port in Alaska are not included. Reach out and I am glad to help you find good options.
Hotel stay and any activities pre- or post- cruise
Transfers to and from the cruise port.
Any shore excursions that you purchase for port days.
Specialty Dining is not required and not included but you can add on these extras once booked.
Soda, Coffee, Juice, Non-alcoholic, and Alcoholic drink packages are not included.
Tips are not included, however they can be pre-paid or paid on the ship.
Please note, prepaid gratuities do not include bartenders, excursion guides, transfer drivers, spa employees, or porters.
Not included, but strongly recommended for a trip like this. I am happy to point you toward good options.
Souvenirs, alcohol, and any optional purchases outside the included items are on your own.

Yes, every traveler including children. This cruise ends in Vancouver, Canada, so a birth certificate is not enough. If your kids do not have passports, start now. They take time, and for young children both parents usually have to apply in person.

It is a one way sailing, which means you cover the length of the coast instead of repeating the same water. You fly into Anchorage and home out of Vancouver, and I will help you plan both.
Every traveling party is responsible for their own entry requirements. That means a valid passport with enough blank pages, and one that does not expire within 6 months of your travel dates, plus any visas required for the destination. I am glad to point you toward the right resources, but the passport and visa itself is on you to handle.
About two and a half hours by road, or by the Alaska Railroad, which is a beautiful ride in itself. I strongly recommend arriving at least one day early, and I can arrange the night and the transfer.
If you book a double occupancy oceanview balcony inside my group space, it is typically refundable, and it is $100 per person. Most other Royal Caribbean bookings, including promotional bookings, require a non refundable deposit. I will tell you exactly which applies to your family before you pay anything.
Yes. I book staterooms that fit three, four and five guests at current rates. Those rooms are outside the group block so the terms are different, and I will walk you through it. We also can look at connecting or nearby rooms.
No, and they are very different trips. This is a big ship with pools, kids clubs and shows, and it is the easier and more affordable way to see Alaska. The expedition ship is small, carries naturalists, reaches places with no dock, and costs considerably more. I offer both because families want different things.
